What We Believe

The Holy Scriptures
1. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, verbally inspired by God, and is the authoritative source of Christian doctrine and precept. Timothy 3:16,17

The Eternal Godhead
2.  We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14

The Deity of Christ
3.  We believe that Jesus Christ, as God’s Son, was both human and deity. John 1:14

The Fall of Man
4.  We believe that man was created in the image of God, but as a result of sin is lost and powerless to save himself. Romans 5:12

The Plan of Salvation

5.  We believe that the only hope for man is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the virgin born Son of God, who died to take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of mankind, and Who rose from the dead so that by receiving Him as Savior and Lord, man is redeemed by His blood. Romans 5:8-10

The Love of God
6.  We believe that the Love of God is altogether unconditional, and never changes or varies.  Since ‘God is Love,’ we understand that love is God’s heart and nature, which never changes.  For the child of God, one’s performance will affect the Father’s approval of the behavior, but not affect His acceptance and love for His child.  Since ‘Love never fails,’ we may always be sure that ‘Nothing can separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.' John 3:16, Romans 8:35, I Corinthians 13:8, 1 John 4:16

The Holy Spirit
7.  We believe that the Holy Spirit is third person of the Trinity, whose purpose in the redemption of man is to:  convict men of sin, regenerate the repentant believer, guide the believer into all truth, indwell and enable believers to live righteous and holy lives, and give gifts to believers as He wills, that they may minister as Christ would to men. John 6:8 & 13, 1 Corinthians 12:7

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

8.  We believe that the Baptism of the Spirit empowers believers and that it occurs now as it is revealed occurring in the Scriptures. Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4

The Lord’s Supper
9.  We believe and practice Holy Communion (The Lord’s Supper), which consists of the partaking of the elements of bread and fruit of the vine.  By participating in this Holy ordinance, we are expressing our remembrance of the Lord’s death until He comes, expressing our faith in the new covenant and all which it entails. This was brought about through His sinless life and His shed blood, and expressing our participation by faith in the Body of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:24-25

Water Baptism
10.  We believe in water baptism by immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation.  It is to be the outward sign of the inward work of our identification with the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for us, and work of regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Romans 6:2-3

Divine Healing
11.  We believe that though God uses doctors, medicines and other means of healing, that Divine healing is provided in the atonement of Jesus Christ. Peter 2:24
